In Memory of Dead Classmates (2012)

You are the ones who never grew old
Taken before the compromises
And before the gladness.

We left you behind
In a world without the Web,
Before Facebook and Street View,
Before McDonald’s took us over,
Before 26/11.

Did you ever feel that we didn’t care?
We were too busy being young
And clueless.
But now, at the half-way mark,
When we look back at our journeys,
We hope you found
Somewhere, somehow,
The lives you should have had,
The good, the indifferent and also the bad.
